Among amphibians, the axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is a proven consumer of terrestrial and aquatic worms: in the wild and in captivity, earthworms constitute a major part of its diet thanks to their high nutritional value, as long as worms are offered in suitable sizes or cut into pieces according to the animal's ability.
Numerous species of lizards also consume worms when available in their environment: skinks, ground geckos or certain anoles regularly include worms in their diet in addition to insects and other invertebrates.
Among salamanders and newts, such as the alpine newt and other urodeles, worms are among the invertebrates they naturally hunt in their habitat, especially during their nocturnal outings or in wet periods.
For larger terrestrial reptiles (some snakes or omnivorous turtles), worms provide an interesting source of protein as a supplement to a balanced diet of insects, small animals or formulated feeds. However, it is important to adapt the size of the prey to the species and age of the animal to avoid any risk of choking or difficult digestion.
Our worms are carefully packaged to maintain their freshness, vitality and palatability, making them especially suitable for live feeding in terrariums, paludariums, or for occasional feedings as part of a varied diet.
