The Story of Moutta Farm

Willy tells our story

The creation of the farm

Paul Reveyron, after founding several companies across the world (Canada, Brazil, the West Indies), sold his company specialising in waste management from the Kourou Space Station in French Guiana in the 2000s.

Back in France with a new plan — to use compost worms to produce vermicompost — his research brought him to Béarn where he settled with his wife Béatrice and their son Luc.

This is how Moutta Farm was born in 2007.

The origin of the Moutta name

The farm Paul took over is located on a feudal mound called Moutta, at 40 chemin du Moutta, Boueil-Boueilho-Lasque (64340). The name, therefore, was a natural choice.

A feudal mound is an earthen fortification with a large embankment forming a circular artificial hill. On the Moutta mound, Paul uncovered ancient remains of a castle.

Legend has it that the good King Henry IV of Navarre came here to court one of his mistresses.

The difficult beginnings

Paul’s initial idea was to produce vermicompost — this powerful organic amendment made by worms digesting waste — to sell to market gardeners and growers.

He quickly realised that the margins were slim due to the high cost of transportation.

This is when he conceived and developed a new model of wormery: the WORMbox, a pioneer in France, allowing everyone to recycle their food scraps right in their kitchen with the help of worms.

A change of direction

Paul, passionate about entrepreneurial adventures, then had the opportunity to develop activities in the West Indies, especially in the Dominican Republic, where he relocated with his family.

He entrusted the management of the farm to trusted people, which enabled him to run it remotely.

For a few years, the activity stagnated, as managing and developing the farm from abroad remained difficult.

The new partner

In 2018, Julien Pungier took over the management of the farm.

Paul and Julien had known each other since the creation of the farm: from the start, Paul trusted Julien with communications. Both are self-taught and passionate.

Julien created his first website at the age of 14, in 1996. He launched his first company at 20 and has been supporting businesses with their communications and growth ever since.

Although Julien was familiar with the farm, he had to learn the ins and outs of a still little-known trade. He became the farm's first employee. His mother-in-law Cathy, retiring at the time, joined him a few weeks later for administration.

European growth

The farm in EuropeIn just a few years, the farm moved from a handful of products to more than a hundred, growing its core business: vermicomposting.

Moutta Farm gradually became a key reference in the sector in Europe. From the start, Julien realised that developing the business depended on expanding to the European market.

He even convinced his wife Laetitia — a sales specialist in luxury furniture — to join the venture and help develop the farm.

Today, the company has around ten employees and increased its turnover tenfold in five years.

2026: new website & range expansion

In 2026, the fruit of Julien's work appears: the new farm website — available in 18 languages soon — enables Moutta Farm to share its expertise with all Europeans.

2026 is also the launch of its own line of gardening and home products.
