Ollas, also known as Oyas, are micro-porous ceramic irrigation pots, handmade in France.
Buried near plants, they gradually release water directly at the root level, delivering only the necessary quantity thanks to the natural process of regulation by porosity.
An irrigation solution that’s ecological, economical, and autonomous.
How it works
Buried as close as possible to the roots, the Olla slowly releases water through its micro-porous ceramic. Easily filled from the top, it delivers moisture by capillarity directly into the soil, only when needed. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the diffusion naturally slows down, guaranteeing regulated, precise, and no excess watering. Its lid limits evaporation and protects the water from impurities, ensuring targeted and effective watering.
Advantages
The Olla provides autonomous watering for 4 to 5 days, reducing the need for manual watering by up to three times. It encourages healthy growth by limiting water stress and delivering water directly to the roots. This ecological system also allows for 50 to 70% water savings, while saving you time and worry. Durable, natural, and energy-free, it’s a responsible solution in times of drought and in the face of current environmental challenges.
