The EM® grey ceramic beads and balls are made from Kibushi clay fermented with effective EM® microorganisms, then fired at a high temperature (1,200 to 1,300 °C).
They provide a 100% natural solution to improve tap water quality and reduce the inconveniences caused by chlorine and limescale.

Setup & maintenance
First use:
Before first use, it is recommended to let the beads sit in a jug of water for 30 minutes. This contact time optimises their effectiveness.
Quarterly maintenance:
To maintain performance, repeat maintenance every 3 months:
- Scrub and rinse the beads in hot water.
- Soak them overnight in lightly diluted white vinegar.
- Rinse them thoroughly.
- Then boil them for 20 minutes.
After this, they are ready to be reused.
Uses - Recommended dosages
Jug / Water pitcher
10 to 15 beads/balls per litre
Leave for at least 15 minutes before drinking.
Kettle / Coffee machine
12 to 25 beads/balls, depending on volume.
Washing machine
Up to 50 beads/balls depending on machine size.
Place in a bag or sock.
Helps reduce limescale and preserves the appliance.
Dishwasher
Up to 40 beads/balls.
Place in the cutlery basket.
Vase
20 to 30 beads at the bottom of the vase.
Fruit & vegetable basket
15 to 25 beads/balls.
Fridge
25 to 35 beads/balls in a small bowl.
Aquarium / Pond
About 50 beads/balls per 100 litres (depending on setup).
Pets
15 to 25 beads/balls (external use, for example, in a collar).
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of young children (small parts).
- Do not use if the bead is broken for drinking water purposes.
- Do not use pink beads for hot water (they are less resistant).
