Role of the mat: Retain moistureWormery used: WORMbox

Very useful, both for protecting them and for retaining moisture. Plus, they really like nibbling on it...

Eaten up by the worms fairly quickly. Not necessarily essential.
Assez rapidement consommé par les lombrics. Pas forcément indispensable

Very handy for covering the peelings. My only reservation is the fibres that I then find in the compost, which don't look very nice in the flower pots!

Role of the mat: Keep the worms inWormery used: WORMbox
Automatic translation from FrenchOriginal text from French
At the beginning it's important, it keeps the most adventurous worms from making a run for it. Now I don't use it anymore, they were eating it as fast as a priest could bless it!
