The worms are fine in themselves, but they handle the journey very badly and all try to escape as soon as they arrive in the composter. Many don't survive. So I've gotten into the habit of buying fishing worms in a shop, making sure the seller doesn't shake them around in every direction.

Les vers n'ont pas de problème en soi mais ils supportent très mal le trajet se se sauvent tous en arrivant dans le composteur. Beaucoup n'en réchappent pas. Du coup, j'ai pris l'habitude d'acheter des vers en magasin pour la pêche, en veillant à ce que le vendeur ne les secoue pas dans tous les sens.

I have 3 composters in my garden, each one in contact with the soil. I didn't manage to get the worm culture I bought from you going. The cause: we use a lot of garlic, shallots and onions in our cooking, which the worms don't like at all! So what should I do with these peelings?

J'ai 3 composteurs dans mon jardin, chacun en contacte avec la terre. Je n'ai pas réussi de développer la culture de vers que j'avais acheter chez vous. La cause: Nous utilisons beaucoup d'ail, d'échalottes et d'oignons dans notre cuisine que les vers de terre n'aiment pas du tout! Alors que faire avec ces épluchures?

I'm discovering worm composting and it's great… now that the worms feel at home… it's still new to me to look after them.. and make sure they don't go off exploring elsewhere by climbing out of the bin!

They're doing wonderfully and multiplying. It's not easy to find a name for each one: VERmicelle, VERgeture, VERtige, VERrue, VERticule, VERranda, VERdevin, VERàbière, VERitable... We relocated a few of them, who left the Hautes-Alpes department (05) for PuyVERt in the Luberon (84), to our son's garden.

Ils vont à merveille et se multiplient. Pas facile de trouver un prénom pour chacun : VERmicelle, VERgeture, VERtige, VERrue, VERticule, VERranda, VERdevin, VERàbière, VERitable.... On en a délocalisé quelques-un qui ont quitté le département des Hautes-Alpes (05) pour PuyVERt dans le Luberon (84) dans le jardin de notre fils.

Today I transferred my worms to a community composter, and for several years they really worked hard to turn my waste into liquid in the worm composter!

Aujourd'hui j'ai transféré mes lombrics dans un composteur collectif et durant plusieurs années, ils ont vraiment été vaillants pour transformer mes déchets en jus dans le lombricomposteur !
