Vulkamin® is a volcanic-origin basalt rock powder, 100% natural, renowned for its exceptional absorbency. Rich in minerals and trace elements, it durably improves bedding quality and helps create a healthier environment for animals.
Produced from finely ground prehistoric rock, this volcanic powder acts as a natural regulator of moisture and emissions in stables, stalls, and deep litter beds. It is naturally gentler than lime, thus less aggressive for the skin, mucous membranes, and cow udders.
Thanks to its strong binding capacity, Vulkamin® traps ammonia and other nitrogen compounds (nitrates, nitrites, phosphates), thus limiting harmful emissions and unpleasant odors. Stalls stay drier, the atmosphere is healthier, and the presence of flies is reduced.
Benefits
- Very high moisture absorption capacity;
- Binds ammonia and strongly limits odors;
- Reduces the formation of nitrates and nitrites;
- Healthier atmosphere and fewer flies;
- Beneficial effect on hooves and claws;
- No nitrogen evaporation unlike lime;
- Enriches manure and soil with minerals and trace elements;
- Helps improve soil fertility.
Its naturally disinfectant effect also contributes to good hoof and claw health. By reducing moisture and irritating substances, it helps prevent respiratory and foot problems.
Vulkamin® is the ideal natural mineral solution to improve animal comfort, sanitize livestock buildings, and enhance manure while respecting soil balance.
Uses
Vulkamin® is used by manual sprinkling, directly on damp areas of bedding, as a complement to straw, flax, or sawdust.
Suitable for both standard stalls and systems with mats or deep bedding.
Indicative dosage:
Approximately 250 g per m² per week, with regular application all year round.
For a stall of about 9 to 12 m²:
2 × 750 g per week depending on the humidity level.
With Microferm:
Prepare a 5% solution: 5 L of Microferm to 100 L of water.
Spray 1.5 L of this solution in the stable 3 times per week (equivalent to 65 ml of Microferm diluted in 1.5 L of water).
When Vulkamin®-enriched bedding joins the manure pile, its action continues: ammonia is retained, nitrogen evaporation is limited, and manure is enriched with essential minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium as well as trace elements like silicon, zinc, or titanium. The manure thus becomes a richer, more balanced amendment for agricultural soils and pastures.
Completely non-toxic, Vulkamin® can be used safely in cattle, equine, sheep, goat, poultry, or rabbit farming.
