The Bokashi activator / starter / booster is essential for initiating and speeding up the fermentation of organic matter while effectively controlling odors. It ensures a fast and clean transformation of food scraps thanks to a natural maceration process in a bokashi bin or a composter.
This 1kg bag of Bokashi activator is composed of EM-1 microorganisms® renowned for their efficiency. These beneficial bacteria trigger waste fermentation by promoting dehydration, without rotting or foul odors. This is the very first Bokashi activator made in France by Moutta Farm from carefully selected local raw materials: wheat bran comes from Gers (32) and the molasses from Béarn.
We exclusively use official EM-1® developed by Professor Teruo Higa, pioneer and inventor of Bokashi, to guarantee optimal, natural, and controlled fermentation.
Consumption is efficient: 2kg of activator are enough for a two-person household for about a year, making it a cost-effective and sustainable solution.
Use and dosage
It is easy and accessible for everyone to use. Simply sprinkle a thin layer of about 40ml, or 4 tablespoons (or two doses with the 20ml spoon), directly over all organic waste in your composter. For optimal results, add a bit of activator at the end of each day you've used it.
Beyond Bokashi, this activator offers many benefits for soil. It improves soil fertility, rebalances microbial activity, and revives depleted grounds.
It can also be used in an outdoor composter to boost decomposition and reduce bad odors, or sprinkled on the surface of pots and planters to stimulate microbial life in the soil.
To preserve its full efficiency, it is recommended to store the activator at room temperature, away from light and moisture. After use, expel the air from the bag to reseal it as airtight as possible. Its eco-friendly kraft zip bag guarantees excellent long-term preservation.
