Edasil® is a natural mineral soil amendment made from montmorillonite, a clay mineral from the bentonite group celebrated for its exceptional absorption and binding capabilities.
Thanks to its structure of fine, negatively charged plates, montmorillonite boasts a very high cation exchange capacity (CEC), allowing it to bind essential nutrients (calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, ammonium, etc.) and to release them gradually to plants as needed.
Edasil durably improves soil fertility, limits leaching of nutrients, and optimises moisture management.
✔ Suitable for use in Organic Farming (compliant with European regulations)
Advantages
- Improvement of soil structure.
- Increase of cation exchange capacity (CEC).
- Binding and gradual release of nutrients.
- Reduction of leaching and mineral loss.
- Better water retention, especially in sandy soils.
- Active support for soil microbial life.
- Positive influence during drought or excess water.
Applications
✔ Soil improvement
Edasil combines with humus to form the clay-humus complex, which is the foundation of soil fertility.
It acts as a powerful ionic buffer, storing nutrients and releasing them when the plants need them.
✔ Moisture management
Its swelling capacity allows it to retain significant amounts of water, which is beneficial for light and sandy soils.
