The WORMbox 240 is the result of years of research and testing, especially regarding the silo system. Keep in mind that compost worms work within the first 30/40 cm; if you put them in a container that’s too large, they won’t go to the bottom or the sides. With the silo, it’s as if the worms have a working area of several square meters; they operate on the top, sides, and bottom.
The other benefit of the silo is excellent aeration; the oxygen flow is perfectly controlled thanks to four ventilation grids, the waste doesn’t stick to the walls, and there’s no need to stir the compost!
The worms will "push" the worm casting (fertilizer) to the sides, and it will naturally fall to the bottom, where it can be easily collected with the front access hatch.
The silo sits on a liquid collector, featuring a durable filter made of aluminum mesh. The worms can’t get down and drown in the liquid tray. Simply collect the compost tea with the tap.
Comes complete with:
- 2 kg of compost worms (around 4000 worms),
- 1 galvanized steel silo,
- 1 aluminum mesh filter,
- 1 liquid tray with tap,
- 1 aluminum stand,
- 1 compost tea collector,
- 1 sieve for sifting the worm casting,
- 2 kg of RegulaWorm,
- 2 kg of WormFood,
10 liters of starter substrate, - 1 use guide + assembly instructions.
The liquid collector sits on an aluminum stand, everything is easily detachable and washable, and no drilling or fixing is required on the container, guaranteeing no deformation.
On the lid you’ll find all key information about the worms’ diet.
It is advised to place the WORMbox 240 sheltered from direct sunlight; avoid full south exposure. The worms work best between 15 and 25°.
