Who is Urban Worm?
Did you know?In a continuous-flow wormery such as the WORMbag, the worms move up of their own accord towards fresh food, so the vermicompost at the bottom can be harvested without disturbing them.
Urban Worm (Urban Worm Company) is based in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Urban Worm describes itself as "an education company first, an online shop second": the brand shares a wealth of guides to help people learn vermicomposting.
Urban Worm's WORMbag is a continuous-flow wormery made from breathable technical fabric, mounted on a lightweight frame, with no tools or glue required. The bottom of the WORMbag opens so you can harvest the mature vermicompost while the worms carry on working above.
At Moutta Farm, we chose Urban Worm to offer a large, easy-to-use continuous-flow wormery. The WORMbag joins our range of continuous-flow wormeries. The WORMbag comes with a 2-year guarantee.
Questions about Urban Worm products
Is the WORMbag right for my household?
The WORMbag wormery is designed for a household of 1 to 6 people. The worms in the WORMbag can eat up to 2 kg of organic waste a day. It is a large wormery, ideal for families who produce lots of peelings.
Continuous-flow or tray wormery: what's the difference?
In a tray wormery, you stack trays and move them around to harvest. In a continuous-flow wormery such as the WORMbag, everything happens in a single large space: you feed from the top and harvest from the bottom, without handling any trays.
What do I need to start a WORMbag?
To start the WORMbag, you need compost worms, chosen by weight in grams according to your household, and moist bedding. Then simply add your kitchen waste through the top of the WORMbag.
