The Wormery WORMacotta comes in 1.1 L, for a 15 to 30 litre planter, and in 6.5 L, for a container of over 100 litres, a raised vegetable bed or open ground. The worms come and go through the holes in the WORMacotta and leave their vermicompost right at the roots of your plants.

WORMacotta is a Moutta Farm brand. Moutta Farm has been breeding compost worms since 2007 and designed the Wormery WORMacotta for anyone who wants to feed their plants with kitchen waste, directly in the soil.
The WORMacotta is made from 100% natural terracotta in Portugal, the kingdom of pottery. The principle is simple: push the tube in until the last holes are hidden, fill it with finely chopped peelings and close the lid. The worms eat the waste inside the pot, then colonise the surrounding soil and enrich it with vermicompost.
The WORMacotta fits in a planter, a wooden container, a raised vegetable bed or the garden. It complements our range of in-ground wormeries. The WORMacotta comes with a 2-year guarantee.
Questions about WORMacotta products
Which size of WORMacotta should I choose: 1.1 L or 6.5 L?
It all depends on the volume of soil around the pot. The 1.1 L WORMacotta suits a 15 to 30 litre planter and holds around 1 kg of organic waste. The 6.5 L suits a container of over 100 litres, a raised vegetable bed or open ground, for around 5 kg of organic waste. If you have lots of peelings, plan for several WORMacotta, one per container.
Are worms supplied with the WORMacotta?
No, the Eisenia compost worms are sold separately: 250 g of worms is enough per WORMacotta. Choose compost worms rather than garden earthworms, and a potting compost free from chemical fertilisers.
Where should I install the WORMacotta?
The WORMacotta can be installed in a planter, a pot, a wooden container or directly in the vegetable patch. Push it in until the last holes are no longer visible. In winter, a piece of XXL hemp mat or a layer of mulch protects the terracotta lid from frost.
