Who is Tumbleweed?
Did you know?Tumbleweed has recycled more than 13,000 tonnes of plastic since 1998: the Worm Café is made from 100% recycled plastic.
Tumbleweed is a privately owned Australian company with a presence worldwide. Tumbleweed has been making wormeries in Australia for more than 30 years and was one of the pioneers of home vermicomposting.
Tumbleweed's commitment is clear: wormeries and composters made in Australia from Australian-sourced recycled plastic, by Australian employees. The Worm Café is designed and made in Australia from 100% recycled plastic. The Worm Café has a hinged lid with instructions moulded on the underside, a collection tray with a tap and ant-proof legs.
At Moutta Farm, we chose Tumbleweed for the sturdiness and large capacity of the Worm Café. You will also find all the Worm Cafe spare parts with us: tray, lid, juice tray and feet. All Tumbleweed products come with a 2-year guarantee.
Questions about Tumbleweed products
Worm Café with 2 or 3 trays: which should I choose?
The 2-tray Worm Cafe wormery is enough to get started: the worms settle in the first tray, then move up into the second. The 3-tray version offers more capacity, handy for a family or for harvesting more often. With 14 litres of usable space per tray, the Worm Café is a large wormery.
What else do I need besides the Worm Café wormery?
To get your Worm Café started, you need compost worms. We recommend starting with a quantity in grams suited to your household. After that, simply add your fruit and vegetable peelings.
Can a Worm Café be extended or repaired?
Yes. An extra Worm Cafe tray lets you add a level to compost more. The other Worm Cafe spare parts are available individually: lid, juice tray and feet.
