Who is Transfarmers?
Did you know? The caps of the Transfarmers pot combine cork, an excellent natural insulator, with rubber from recycled shoe soles.
Transfarmers is a young French brand born of the desire to compost, even in a flat. The Transfarmers flowerpot wormery was designed by agronomists, following several years of research and testing.
The Transfarmers pot is handmade in France from natural terracotta. Terracotta is breathable and absorbent, ideal for compost worms. Each pot is unique: slight variations in colour are the hallmark of craftsmanship.
Transfarmers also makes the Ollas Poto, terracotta water diffusers inspired by Fibonacci curves, available in 3 sizes. A lovely way to water your potted plants economically.
Moutta Farm, a compost worm breeder since 2007, is the exclusive distributor of Transfarmers and keeps Transfarmers spare parts in stock: cap, bowl and separation panel. The Wormery Transfarmers comes with a 2-year guarantee.
Questions about Transfarmers products
Who is the Wormery Transfarmers suitable for?
The Wormery Transfarmers is designed for flats and small spaces. It recycles 1.5 to 2 litres of kitchen waste per week, ideal for a household that wants to compost without a balcony or garden. The Transfarmers pot works best indoors, as compost worms like mild temperatures.
What do I need in addition to the Transfarmers pot?
The Transfarmers pot must be used with compost worms, sold separately and always by weight. You will also need a plant and potting compost for the flowerpot section. To explore further, discover our other wormeries with planters.
Which plants can I grow in a Transfarmers pot?
The Transfarmers pot can host a wide range of plants, large and small: vegetables, herbs, foliage or flowering plants. The growing section holds 25 litres of soil. The plant benefits directly from the vermicompost produced by the worms in the 17-litre compost section.
Can I replace a part of the Transfarmers?
Yes. Moutta Farm offers Transfarmers spare parts: the cap, the protective bowl and the separation panel. This way, your terracotta Transfarmers pot will last for many years.
