The Bokashi Organko Essential allows you to compost your organic waste. Thanks to its design and functionality, it will fit perfectly into your kitchen.
It is made from recycled plastic packaging.
This kit of 2 buckets contains all the essential elements you need to start your Bokashi composter.
Bokashi is not a traditional compost, but rather a fermentation process that breaks down food scraps. This process uses EM (Effective Microorganisms) as an activator, which are added to the Bokashi to speed up fermentation of organic waste.
The word "bokashi" is a Japanese term meaning "fermented organic matter". It is indeed fermented by EM (friendly bacteria). These bacteria will accelerate the fermentation process of the organic matter in the composter.
Bokashi has positive effects on the soil; it enriches the ground, nourishes the garden and benefits our planet by reducing daily waste. Composting with a Bokashi is very simple. Thanks to its design, discreet appearance and compact size, it is ideal as a kitchen composter.

WHY TWO BOKASHI?
The advantage of the 2-bucket kit:
While fermentation is in progress in the 1st composter (for 15 days), the second is available to continue disposing of new waste (the following 15 days).
We recommend using two Bokashi. Once the first is full, it must stay closed and rest for 2 weeks, to allow the food waste to ferment. Meanwhile, you can start filling the second bucket which will be available for use!

Advantages
This indoor composter offers several strengths:
- It is equipped with a tap allowing you to benefit from compost tea without handling the waste.
- Large waste processing capacity: (2 x 15.3 litres).
- Its practical base supports the bucket and integrates a pull-out container to easily collect the compost tea.
- A wide compactor enables efficient compression of waste without getting your hands dirty.
- It consists of two composters: collect organic waste in one while finishing the fermentation process in the other.
- Its ergonomic and ultra-strong handle makes carrying and moving easier.
Principle and usage:
- Place your cooked and raw food waste in the composter.
- Sprinkle two tablespoons of Bokashi activator.
- Compact your waste with the provided compactor to extract air from the organic matter.
- Keep the lid always closed—the less air, the better.
- Empty excess liquid using the tap located at the base of the composter.
Once the bucket is full, empty the contents into a small hole or trench in your garden (into the green waste bin, a worm composter, or even at the waste centre).
The waste will have fermented but will not yet have decomposed at this stage. It needs to go into the ground to physically decompose into humus (soil). Alternatively, the organic matter from the bucket can be added to your garden composter. For best results, keep this organic matter covered with soil and other compostable materials.
